Create or join groups and manage membership and group information.

What a research group organizes

A research group organizes members, owns projects and can define visibility for group knowledge bases. Project and group membership are managed separately. Confirm both memberships when you need project participation and access to group resources.

Open group management from Project Space, or open Account Center from the user menu. The personal page includes group overview, member management and group settings.

Create or switch groups

Create a group from Project Space or the group overview. Enter its name and type, then optionally add an English name, research direction, description, institution and contact information.

If you belong to several groups, select the intended group before inspecting members or changing settings. You also choose an owning group when creating a project.

Invite and join members

With the appropriate management permissions, use invitation management in the group overview to create an invitation link or code. Check its validity and available settings before sharing it with the intended member.

To use a received code, enter it in the join section and view the invitation. Check the group name and invitation details before accepting. Confirm membership in the overview or member list afterwards.

A group invitation joins a group; a project invitation joins a specific project. Check which invitation you are using.

Review members and maintain information

Member management lists names, usernames, email addresses, roles and join dates. Confirm the current group before using the actions available for each member.

Use group settings to maintain its name, type, research direction and institutional information. Check the selected group before saving.

Leave or dissolve a group

Arrange any ongoing project or resource-management responsibilities before leaving. A group owner must transfer the ownership relationship as required by the page before leaving.

Dissolution affects the whole group. Use it only when the group is no longer needed, and read the confirmation's impact statement. To change your working scope, use the group selector.

Continue by creating a project or setting up a group knowledge base.
