Distinguish drafts, versions, runs and templates
Draft edits do not change published versions. Publishing a version and adding a template are separate operations.
Publish a version
- Open the workflow in Material Expert and confirm its name and save status.
- Check the graph and review the parameters to preserve.
- Select Publish and inspect the draft revision and node count.
- Expand the optional notes field and describe the purpose or change.
- Choose Publish version and wait for confirmation.
Use notes that distinguish configurations, such as “Preserve the original cell; change the supercell from 2 × 2 × 2 to 2 × 1 × 1.”
Inspect and restore a version
Open Version history and select a version to inspect its publication time, notes, source draft and nodes.
Choose Restore to draft to return to that configuration. Read the confirmation: restoration replaces unpublished draft changes. Publish any configuration you need to retain before restoring another version.
Review and check the restored graph. Run it with the appropriate inputs when you need calculation results; restoring configuration does not produce a new execution result.
Reuse a configuration as a template
Save the workflow, then open Explore → Template Center → My templates → Add template. Select the workflow and add a description. See Template Center.
Document suitable inputs, adjustable parameters and expected outputs in the template description. A new task still requires its own structure and run inputs.
